Inner work

Updated: 4 days ago

Lived spirituality

Spirituality, for me, is about dedication to inner responsibility and inner transformation. It is the work that takes place within us, in our thoughts and hearts — unseen by others, yet the place where everything begins.

It is hard work - I speak from experience - and it requires dedication, an open heart, and guidance. A supportive network of like-minded people and a good sense of humour helps, too!

As our inner world changes, so does everything around us: our relationships, health, wellbeing, and the way we experience life. This is lived spirituality — real, embodied, and transformative.

Understanding consciousness & the true nature of being

All of life arises from a single source of consciousness, and our true nature is that same pure awareness. When this understanding is lived and embodied, it becomes the foundation for inner peace, fulfilment, freedom, and self-realisation.

Drawing from the teachings and work of people who have inspired me over the years - Rupert Spira, Tom Campbell, Anna Brown, Ulrich Warnke, Story Waters, William Buhlman, Arndt Allingham, and many others, I explore fundamental subjects related to consciousness, the self, and love.

At the heart of all inner work lies a simple yet profound realisation: we are sparks of divine creation, individuated expressions of consciousness, temporarily immersed in human experience. The path to our true selves unfolds through remembering — a gradual awakening to our origin, essence, and creative capacity. As remembrance deepens, perception shifts, inner clarity expands, and dormant abilities begin to reawaken naturally.

All inner work grows from this understanding.

Sacred space, ritual & daily orientation

Inner work is supported by external structure. I offer guidance on creating simple sacred spaces in the home, along with meaningful routines that support stillness, reflection, and inner connection. This includes working with practices such as singing bowls, incense, and cleansing rituals, as well as tools like tarot cards and pendulums as methods of reflection, higher self-connection, and guidance.

Beginning the day in conscious presence

I share lived experience and guidance around using the early hours of the morning as a conscious threshold into the day. These quiet hours carry a unique quality of stillness and receptivity, offering a powerful space for inner alignment before we and the world become active.

This practice weaves together:

  • Gentle stretching, yoga, and intuitive movement to awaken the body with awareness.

  • Stillness and meditation to deepen connection with the heart space.

  • Preparing and drinking ceremonial cacao as a ritual of presence and intention.

  • Meeting the sunrise in a special place.

  • Creating nature mandalas at sunrise - a deeply reflective and heartwarming ritual that connects inner awareness with the natural world.

Over time, this way of beginning the day shapes how we meet life, anchoring awareness before action and allowing each day to unfold from clarity, gratitude, and connection.

Fasting as a conscious practice

I also offer advice and guidance on fasting, drawing from personal experience as a long-term faster.

For me, fasting means completely abstaining from food, consuming only water and teas. While fasting carries well-documented health benefits, I have also come to experience it as a deeply spiritual and reflective practice when carried out mindfully.

Fasting gifts you something rare: space and time to be with your self. Removed from habitual eating patterns, you are invited into a direct relationship with your inner world. This creates an opportunity to reflect consciously on the meaning and purpose of food in your life, and to use this awareness as a springboard for inner transformation.

During a fast, natural questions arise:

  • Why do I eat?

  • What role does food play beyond nourishment?

  • What other sources of energy are available to me?

  • How is my body equipped to respond to extended periods without food?

  • How do my thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations change from day to day?

This lived inquiry deepens awareness of both body and mind. Through this process, fasting becomes a powerful teacher. When integrated with care and awareness, the insights gained through fasting lead to lasting changes in how you relate to food, energy, wellbeing, and life itself.

I hold space during fasting periods - for individuals and small groups - through daily online meetings and loving support.
